With all the best intentions

I got to have blood drawn this afternoon, so I knew I had a little time that I could burn behind the lens.  I drove around but I had a hard time finding a great subject. This was because the clouds were a little strange and the sun was filtered and lacking anything spectacular.

With that said, I had enough of driving around and stopped to get out of my truck.

I knew there was an image to be had at the new boat ramp just to the North of Independence Oregon and this is the one that I got and was willing to share.

Local barn goes up in flames

These are images from a barn fire that was reported around 8pm tonight (9-18-14) on Clow Corner Rd going into Dallas Oregon.

Yes, this has happened once before at the same property about 10 years ago.

The cause has not been determined as of yet but with a hay barn there is usually only one cause. That cause is usually Internal Spontaneous Combustion from damp hay being stored.

The heat in the bales of hay builds up over time (1-2 Months) causing the hay to basically smolder until there is enough heat and oxygen. When that happens you then get the fire.

It will be watched and kept very wet for a couple days until it is completely dispersed of all heat and potential for another fire.

It did scare me pretty good.
I saw the glow of the fire just to the North of us over a ridge of trees.

I had to check it out to see what it was because a wildfire right now is not a good thing.

It is so dry here in NW Oregon and fires can grow
big very fast with the conditions like we have had.

While going through a bunch of old photos last week I started looking online to all that I have posted.  You might say, I was in awe of some of the work I did but all the work it took to actually organize, process, post and keep the blog up and running.

I have taken about 2 years off from blogging on all of my pages but have been more and more involved in projects and have a rekindled interest to share with others again. I realized I was wasting more time on Facebook and other social media platforms and leaving no valuable content and really I was not receiving any either. I would get a great story here or there but I was not impressed very often.

What am I saying?
Well, I am making a commitment to focus my work and make sure it is shared across the world.  I have shared very little in the last 2 or even 3 years and I need to focus on it again.

All I ask from you is that when you stop in and look around, drop a message and say you were here and what you thought.  Please feel free to post comments, share other sites with me and the rest of the viewers on this page and share this site or specific posts with other people across other platforms.

One thing you don't have to worry about,  I keep it family friendly and it will always be that way.  Better safe than sorry.

Thank you for stopping in and taking a moment to read this.
Subscribe to my blog and you will get notifications when posts are made, that way you won't miss a single thing.

:)

Thanks to the Wild Fires in Oregon and the Willamette Valley, I was able to shoot this Sunset a few days ago.

Thanks for looking and be sure to come back soon.
