Are you stuck in a rut and need to shift your lens perspective?

Everyone has a different perspective in life and through the viewfinder; our childhood through adulthood structures how we see a subject or situation.

My suggestion is to look at your next subject from a different perspective than you have in the past. Choose your favorite lens and take it to new heights way above your head or get real low and crawl with the bugs on the ground.  Doing this might open your eyes to seeing a new way and show a slightly different perspective in your work.

An update on Colleen Hanssen at the Salem Oregon Hospital. Pain medication is not working & her BP is too low to administer more. for more info follow link

Colleen went through surgery today and without any complications.
Right now the whole problem is her pain is too much for the medication to handle.
Yes her BP is low to administer any more medication for pain so she must work through it on her own.
There is no infection or fever at this time.

If you Colleen and Brian you know they depend on your friendship and prayers every day.
So If you have a minute please include them in your prayers and pass this on to anyone else that you think may know Brian and Colleen so they will be in the information loop.

Brian is doing fine but he is worried about Colleen and yes he is at the hospital with her.

If you have not seen it already, you should check out http://www.gazopa.com/ for any image search duties you may have

I picked up information for http://www.gazopa.com/ from TechCrunch50 in San Francisco. It is a powerful tool that I just got around to using today. I wanted to search for a camera from a catalog so I went to the catalog web page, copied the photo of the camera in question to my desktop. I then uploaded the photo to http://www.gazopa.com/ and in two or three clicks I found the camera and the review that said the camera is worth very little, if I bought it to take it back to where I got it and do more research.  Well, I find tools like that very useful in my toolbox and thought you might too.  Carry on and Enjoy!  kc.

My vision is the title of the book I sent off this morning for publishing with Blurb.com.

Yes you read correct, published! Blurb.com is a self publishing site that friends of mine have used in their endeavors! They have been very happy with the results and keep going back for more. The first copy of "My Vision" will ship to me on October 8th. I hope to generate sales and photog interest from this book. With it being my first one I am quite nervous how it will be received by others! I will post more about it when the book arrives! Thanks for reading, please comment! Enjoy!

Prototype samples are done. One tray (42peices) takes 12 hours to print/build. Almost ready for San Francisco!

Interesting prototyping process that starts with a drawing or design in Solidworks. From there the design is sent to the 3-D printer where extruded plastic rope on spools is fed through the printer, heated (Hot-Do Not Touch) to put down on the plate. The head of the printer is similar to a plotter, it moves in all directions to deliver the plastic print material or fill material one layer at a time to the plate where your product comes to life. Enjoy

Perry, any comments or info on the 3-D printer?

Thanks for looking!

Drawing and rendering done in Solidworks

Printing away, laying down plastic layers with the plotter-like head

The finished product ready for packaging and distribution.

Thanks for looking. Fyi, yes Patent Pending! :-)

Ramping everything up for # techcrunch50 next week! Searching good #photog vantage points

I am definately feeling the pressure of the upcoming event in San Francisco California! I have a lot to do and only a little time to do it in!

I have a list of items I am working on including drawings for my patent application, arrangements have been made for more prototype manufacture and I should have them by next Wednesday. Everything is happening so fast around me and it is taking it's toll.  I do not know which way is up or what direction I am going!  The documents I need for the conference "TechCrunch50" are not coming together because I just do not know what I want them to look like yet.  I have a plea for help but I can't even finish that one.  Time for me to create a list of items and add a list of bulletts for that list.  I do have a small support group that is supporting me mentally, I just need to get organized and serious!  Tomorrow (Wednesday) I need to have a start on a presentation sheet and a final "plea for help" document so they can be proof read by everyone I can get to look at them.

Oh yeah, I have included the photo which I took Best of Show at the Polk County Fair in Rickreall Oregon and is now on display in Salem Oregon at the Oregon State Fair!  Hope you like it!  Enjoy!

Whats Up?

I am getting ready for my journey to San Francisco California on the 12th of September for the TechCrunch50 conference. I get to see the latest and greatest of tech companies release their products to the public, and meet with techies, investors and ceo's from around the world. The reason for me to be going to an event like this is I have an invention that needs exposure and this is my opportunity to get it seen. Wish me luck! If you are going to be at TC50 then I may see you there. If you are not there I hope to share some amazing news here upon my return. Thank you, everyone of you for your support and following my photography and life.

Cool Clouds on I-5 Woodburn

I was watching some low clouds as I was heading South on I-5 on the way to Albany Oregon from Portland. I am tempted to do a digital conversion for HDR but we will see. I did have to crop some of the image away but for what it is worth, I like it & I hope you do too.

Going to the Fair, The State Fair that is

This year I entered 10 photos in the Polk County Fair and told Tammy I might get ribbons on 8 of the 10. Was I suprised yesterday when I saw the ribbons! I did in fact get 8 of 10 ribbons but I also got ribbons and awards for "Best of Show" which goes to the State Fair, "Second Best of Show" which also goes to the State Fair, and I also won "Best Color Photo"

You might say I was suprised to see this and take it all in. The Photo Superintendant said he has only seen this maybe 6 times in over 30 years working the fair. You could say it was a good day!

Photos soon to come!

Red and Green

Another photo from the PDX Zoo, the animals were just not cooperating so I decided to shoot a flower and it survived :-) I cant wait for a pro print of this one, I want to see the full colors without the distortion of the funky colors and lighting on my monitor.

Salem Oregon HOOPLA Salm Dunk 2009

These photos are from the 2009 Hoopla Slam Dunk Contest in Salem Oregon July 25th 2009.

It was great watching the talent take over the center stage, tighten their shoes and get prepared for some real air, and unassisted at that.

The contest was in front of the Oregon Capitol Building, there will be more basketball competition on Sunday
It looks like he is praying for the dunk

Certainly going in for the Slam Dunk

Jumping of the Giant to make the play. You could say he nailed it!
It appears that this guy is walking the fence so he can make the basket!

One lucky Screech Owl

This little Screech Owl was at the Washington Park Zoo in Portland Oregon during the Scott Kelby Worldwide Photowalk on July 18th. We had around 40 people that showed up at the zoo to participate. The group had a photo taken of everyone together and then broke out to explore the photographic possibilities of the day. We had about 2 hours to get what I hope to be an Award Winning Photo but we will see. What do you think of this Owl photo? Great, Awful, somewhere in between? Please comment and critique, good bad and the ugly are always welcome. Thanks!!!

I'm Back, Thanks for waiting

First, like the Lorakeet above, I am finally coming out of hiding and hope to post on a regular basis again. Thank you for coming here to see my photography and read a few words. I will try my best to entertain you but I need feedback. Feedback or comments are a necessity and also very important to anyone that is trying to provide content for others to see or read. Please leave comments, critiques, suggestions or if you are in the area and would like to go burn pixels or have a soda somewhere. Speak up and be loud so others can see what you say.

Thanks!!! Kelly C. aka Pentaxfan.

Just a link, and a Thank You!

I just want to thank everyone for stopping by http://jinji-blog.blogspot.com/. Jinji is our 6 year old Shitzu that was just diagnosed with Acute Renal Failure, and this link http://jinji-blog.blogspot.com/ is a blog that we have started for Jinji, as Jinji. The posts will be mostly from a perspective of Jinji but At any time it could be Me or my wife Tammy writing as ourselves. There will be photos, medical updates and daily (as much as possible) updates as to Jinji and her well being. Thank you for leaving comments and morale support! These are hard times financially along with emotional reaction.

Thank You!!

Thank you Dot and Dawn so very much for your comments and personal experience!

I am sure me and my wife Tammy are in for a lot of long sleepless nights and worrisome days.

We are definitely going through some hard times with Jinji and mostly reacting out of love and emotion.

Jinji is not in pain and there is no suffering (except when I can't correctly give Jinji her treatments and keep poking her)

I have started a blog posting updates on Jinji at http://jinji-blog.blogspot.com/
and I have started a Twitter account, so if you want you can follow ShitzuJinji

Again, Thank you everyone for caring and posting comments here. I am sure there will be more about Jinji, and less on photos / blogging.

We need your help please

I was given a bit of bad news today, My dog Jinji is not doing well.
She is a 6 year old Shitzu and was just diagnosed with Adrenal/Kidney failure.

We are asking, "what next?" We have no Idea how long we have left with Jinji but we want to give her the very best until all options are exausted.

The veterinarian has no idea how long we have, basically our job is to keep Jinji comfortable until the inevitable happens and she is no longer with us.

We have no way to pay for more tests or procedures and are already in the $500 area from blood tests, urine sampling, hydration IV's and other procedures I can not remember.

My quest now is for research and success stories to make this bad situation better.

Please email me, post comments with any ideas or stories you have with successes. This is a dog that loves everyone and everyone loves her. She has always been happy go lucky and willing to please everyone she meets.

We are pleading for your help, please pass this post on to everyone you know, We need you ALL!!! Thank you in advance for caring and forwarding this on.

Feel free to contact me in any way you can or are able.

Please feel free contact me with any questions or comments on the comments window or you can
