I have seen way too many of these "Dust Devils" in the valley this summer. I hope it is not a sign of what is to come in the spring. It seems we have had more tornados reported in the last couple years than before.
I have been wanting to shoot some train grafitti, this one was moving pretty fast but I still got a shot.
The noise from the blackbirds in my back yard was deafening. The windows and doors were closed but I still heard the screaming of the birds. This is only one of two trees that were full of these birds, the noise was amazing.

love the pic of the 'dust devil', but hope its not as ominous as it seems... the blackbirds remind me of that nursery rhyme; '...four and twenty black birds baked in a pie...' still singing when the pie was opened! sj
I have only seen little dust devils(maybe because I live by the coast), but I have never seen a proper tornado. I know they cause death and distruction, but still it must be a sight to be seen. Maybe you must go tornado hunting for a photo for us.
I have been seeing these dust devils all summer, but this is the tallest I have been able to see and photograph. The largest was around 150ft wide and really strong, it rocked my car pretty good as we crossed paths. As for chasing them, unfortunately have a day job that hinders my adventures. I have been wanting to chase weather patterns and made a correct prediction of a touchdown last year. Guess I will have to quit my job and find funding to photograph weather patterns. I am sure there is a grant out there somewhere :-)
Thanks
Nice train.
