Today's Sunrise

The story....
Twice per year the sun rises directly East of the gravel road I live on so you see the sun rise out of the road and above the hills.

Perry at My World said I should mark the date and try to shoot the sunrise! Well I checked it out today and the sun is heading to the south every day and I am just a few days too early for the sought after shot.

Today's photos are just a sample of what is to come, It may be Sunday or Monday when I can get the shot but I am up for the challenge. I hope the weather holds and I am able to get a very colorful and stunning early morning sunrise over the Mid-Willamette Valley of Oregon. Let me know what you think, or just say hi!

Thanks for looking,
KC.

I love the light rays coming off the sun in the second picture. Do you have any "go-to" settings for sunsets?

Both are great but prefer the first. I think better viewing of the clouds and less sun though I like the extra framing on the left of the 2nd. I need to find myself a new road for *my own* special day! :-)

I think that its number 1 for me its a beautiful sky ( are they vapour trails ?) and the silhouettes of the pine trees give a real depth to the whole shot, the glow of the sunset, really gives a great feel of warmth, just one sunset over here like that would be great, but no we still have steel grey cloudless skies ! :-(

These images are both gorgeous, but #1 is my favourite. The colours are beautiful - very simple, but striking.
