Aparently this is a Green Heron, or Butorides Virescens for the scientific. I thought the bird had a Heron look to it but I was just not certain what it was
A little fun throwing rocks and splashing around
I like the top photo best, the water column was fun to shoot
You have a Butorides Virescens, possibly a juvinile. Great splashing shots! How long were you there and where was he? I saw one a week ago in a park in South Salem.

Excellent splashes. These photos bring back childhood!
No idea what the bird is, but great splashes, well captured
Great set of splashes. I just hope you weren't throwing the stones at the bird. LOL.
Oh the link doesn't work to the fullsize heron photo. I'd love to see it.
The photo of the Green Heron is fixed. Thank you Jill for letting me know.
Thanks for fixing. The heron is a wonderful sight to see. And rare for me.
Green heron is fairly rare in Oregon, They are know for coming here for the breeding grounds then leaving again. Interesting bird!
Fantastic splashes, well done!
